Tambon Maehoingoen Administration Organization
Tambon Maehoingoen is located in Doi Saked district, Chiang Mai province. Due to its fertile plateau, the early settlers discovered a big tree which was specifically different other ones. Each branch promoted unique and better taste. This tree was then favored by various animals. The unknown fire later occurred and originated the name of this village as Muang Tone since then. This village was separated again to Ban Muang Tone Tai in 1995.
Ban Maehoningoen Nua occupied the canals flowing through so that it attracted other folk people to settle down in the area. When the ruler of Lamphun city dropped by this village and saw the abundant elephant grass for elephant feeding. He hired the locals to raise elephants at two Hoi (a currency unit at that time). Villagers called the village as Maehoingoen after the currency unit. Later, the villages were separated into Maehoingoen Nue and Maehoingoen Tai.
Ban Maehoingoen Nua comprises of many groups of residents like Nam Kong, San Muang, San Dok Kam Tai and Maehoingoen Nue.
Ban Sansai is a small village with a little known background. Formerly, the area is considered a sand dune. After that, it was used for planting and living called Moo Ban Sansai.
Ban Nong Fag is named after the elephant grass (fag in Thai) found in the village. It was united into Moo Ban Maehoingoen Nue in the past. Later, it was separated to be its own village on April 22, 1988. 1. General information

Tambon Maehoingoen Administration Organization is located at 247 Moo 2, Ban Maehoingoentai, Doi Saked district, Chiang Mai with only 13 kilometers away from the Doi Saked District Office and 28 kilometers from Chiang Mai. (45 minute driving)
